Welcome to the Mary Ann Evans Hospice Fundraising department, fundraising is exciting,
fundraising is FUN
and it is also a great responsibility.
Why support Hospice care?
- Hospices cared for 250,000 patients last year, either in a bedded hospice, day care unit or in their own homes, Hospice at Home. This care also extends to families and loved ones, which means that every year, hospice care touches the lives of millions of people throughout the UK.
- Hospice care helps people make the most of every moment they have in whatever ways works best for them - adding life to days even when days can't be added to life.
- Hospice care is tailored to each person's unique needs, through services including pain control, symptom relief, skilled nursing care, complementary therapies and creative activities.
- Hospice care is open to all and provided completely free of charge, but it costs approximately £400 million per year just to keep running. Approximately two thirds of the running costs must be raised from voluntary donations making hospice care the largest fundraising cause in the UK.
